Dr. Lourdes M. Alvarez (Department of Modern Languages and Literatures) has been appointed Director of the Center for Medieval and Byzantine Studies.

Alumni/ae and Student News

H. Francie Roberts (MA, 2006) has moved to Belgium and is currently a doctoral student in philosophy at Katholieke Universiteit Leuven. Her dissertation will focus on cognitive theory and the philosophy of mind in thirteenth and fourteenth-century Latin philosophy.

Atria A. Larson (MA, 2006; ABD) has a second article forthcoming: "The Evolution of Gratian's Tractatus de Penitentia," to appear in this year's volume of The Bulletin of Medieval Canon Law. The journal is co-edited by Kenneth Pennington, Kelly-Quinn Professor of Ecclesiastical and Legal History and associated faculty with the Center for Medieval and Byzantine Studies.
